Nurture at Moorside

Nurture groups turn children’s lives around, ensuring no child is left behind. The aim of introducing Nurture groups is to improve the outcomes for vulnerable learners and disadvantaged pupils and tackle social exclusion by ensuring that an unequal start in life does not mean an unequal chance to engage with learning. In relation to children’s well-being, long term Forest Schools programmes are found to have positive impacts on children’s physical and mental health, in addition to improving their social and cognitive competence. Studies find that it enhances children’s confidence and resilience.

We are so proud to have two amazing Forest School areas at Moorside! We have leaders and teachers who immerse our children in outdoor learning from Early Years up to Year 6! It really is a special part of Moorside, rain or shine! You can read more about Forest Schools at Moorside here.
