Dropping off and collecting children
Arriving at School
The schools are both open from 8.50am to allow children time to come into school and be ready for lessons to start at 9.00am. Please ensure your child is at school by this time in order to avoid disruption for your child and the start of the lesson.
All playgrounds are supervised from 8.50am onwards. If you are late and there is no one on duty this indicates that the doors have been secured. Your child must report to the school office in order to be signed in by a member of staff.
If you arrive after 9.10am the gates into school will be locked and you will need to enter school from the Lead Lane/Harrogate Road entrance. An adult must bring the child to the office and sign their child in. You will be asked about the reason for the lateness, as this needs to be recorded.
Collecting children at the end of the day
Please be prompt collecting your child at the end of the day. School finishes at 3.15pm in the Infant school, 3.20pm in the Junior school and 3.30pm in Nursery. Children get very anxious if you are late. If another adult is to collect your child either temporarily or permanently, please inform school. Your child’s teacher will not release your child to adults who are not listed in our records for collection. If for any reason you are unavoidably delayed please contact the school with details of who will collect your child.
We cannot guarantee that staff will be able to supervise children after 3:30pm. Please ensure that emergency telephone numbers and contact names for your child are up to date at all times.
Parents and carers are asked to meet their children in the playgrounds.
- Reception children are collected from the outdoor area outside of their classroom.
- Year 1 and Year 2 children are collected from the Infant playground.
- Year 3 is collected from the East playground.
- Year 4 and Year 5 are collected from the West playground.
Only children in Year 6 can walk home from school without an adult unless you inform school that you will be collecting them.
If you need to collect your child from school during the day for an appointment please come to the school office where you will be asked to sign that you have collected your child. A member of staff will collect your child from their class.
Please avoid making appointments during the school day.
Any time missed from lessons makes it difficult for your child to keep up with their learning.
